Get Connected First Gen Friars!

September 15, 2020

PC1G is an initiative designed to support first-generation students and their families in finding resources, programs, and campus partners so they may further thrive at PC. We host a few events recognizing our first-generation community, including our Senior Celebration and commemorate National First Gen Day. This year, we invite all first-generation students at PC to match with a “PC1G Partner” – a faculty or staff member who has volunteered to partner with first generation students throughout the year with monthly check-ins coordinated between you two to your preferred communication.  Many of our Partners were once first-generation students themselves, and may already be familiar with some of the feelings or experiences you may encounter and willing to be in touch and support you! You can go to to see our growing list of PC1G partners and their bios. Your PC1G Partner’s only objective is to support you in any way they can throughout your time at PC:

-Dealing with First-Gen stress
-Setting Goals as an Upperclassmen Student
-How To Advocate for yourself
-Navigating Life After College as an upcoming First Gen grad

& More

If you are interested in being matched with a PC1G Partner, you still can!! Please complete the short PC1G Partner Match form by THIS FRIDAY, September 18th  and we will follow up before the end of the month to introduce you to your match:
